Why I run for public office? - Jun Policarpio

I found out that the MLGU which I intend to run has eversince lacked the entrepreneurial management capability. It results to the natural death of some of cooperatives and people’s organizations (farmers, fisherfolks, women, etc). Some of them kept on begging for support for whatever activities they are spearheading concerning the welfare of their neglected sector. Typical reason for this is the lack of economically gainful activities in the area where they are operating which could probably help in sustaining the peoples' living condition.

There is also an identified absence of a consolidated agri-industrial development agenda, a thrust for agriculture modernization. Since the creation of the municipality, the infrastructure facilities (empty NFA Bodega, and other white elephants) when established were not properly utilized due to lack of support even in very basic production level. If they could not control it, then there's no way of engaging into higher operations like in processing inorder to produce a value added (finished) products giving tax to MLGU.

The absence of core values is also observed, these are the unabated values of accountability, cooperation and transparency especially in any development organizations (cooperatives and associaltions) and even with the local government itself. It has been noted that the smallest units of society has a tendency of becoming a breeding ground for graft and corruption due to limited or untapped resources.

So Help us God...
